The Reliance staff of board-certified cytopathologists has undergone extensive training in diagnostic cytopathology. Perfoming the cytology work of numerous hospitals, as well as satellite clinics, Reliance pathologists routinely evaluate and interpret a broad spectrum of Non-gynecologic and fine needle aspirations. The staff has incorporated a standard system for reporting thyroid fine needle aspirations in order to give the referring physician a consistent, concise, and clinically useful interpretation. Reliance cytopathologists are expert in the interpretation of ancillary tests including, but not limited to:  flow cytometry,  immunocytochemistry, fluorescence in-situ hybridization and additional molecular testing.

Reliance cytopathologists place great emphasis on the interactation with referring clinicians, ensuring the diagnosis of the clinical cytology specimens are accurate and completed in an expeditious manner.

Reliance Cytopathology Department

The Reliance Cytopathology Department is directed by Dr. Alejandra Kalik who is board certified in cytopathology, clinical and anatomic pathology. Recognized as one of the top doctors in America by the "Consumers' Guide To Top Doctors," Dr. Kalik brings distinction and a vast expertise to our laboratory to which she serves as Medical Director. Dr. Kalik can also be found lecturing for the Department of Pathology at the University of South Florida.

Jon Finan, M.D., Ph.D,  is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, and fellow of the College of American Pathologists. After completing a cytopathology fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Dr. Finan joined Reliance's team of pathologists. Dr. Finan delivers invaluable knowledge and skillset in fine needle aspirations, gynecologic pathology, microbiology, molecular diagnostics, pulmonary, transplant, and hematopathology.
